Rosco's New Slerch

Without any intervention from me, the pups have always worked out their modus sedendi in the "trucks". On our trip to Mexico, Fips and Rosco alternated between perching on the Doggie Lounger and getting an air-rush through the passenger window. Fips in particular seemed to consider the lounger a sort of command post which enabled him to supervise my driving as he stared over my shoulder down the highway. Of late, I've encouraged Rosco to take his position on the lounger, if only because Fips has difficulty climbing up without my help.

When it comes to the Jeep, the usual doggie-arrangement has been that Rosco sprawls on the back seat while Fips curls up on the passenger seat. The choice between passenger seat and Doggie Lounger is somewhat ambiguous since each has equivalent status advantages. But I'm fairly sure that in the Jeep, the passenger seat is pride of place....not that Rosco isn't perfectly happy to sprawl out in the warmth of the sun.

But of late, Rosco has found a new SLERCH, or slouching perch, on the seat divider between me and Fips. He's figured out he can comfortably sprawl and still be up front. I like it when he does this because it gives me a warm furry arm rest I can stroke and fondle while I drive. Fips doesn't mind as long as he gets some pats on his haunchies too.
